The weigh ins for UFC Fight Night 25 took place the home of Hurricane Katrina and the city that never gave up, New Orleans on Friday with main eventers Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger making weight, thus making their fight official in the MMA world.
Jake Shields takes the fight this Saturday surprisingly after his dad died just a few weeks ago. Surprising because his father Jack, was also his manager and mentor as well. Jake Shields former Strikeforce champion and last victim of GSP, said he stayed in the bout because his dad was his biggest fan and would have wanted to see him shine in the Octagon.
Ellenberger wishes to make a statement tonight as he will attempt to make his way up to top 10 rankings by beating Jake Shields.
The Co-main event fighters entail a much anticipated bout between Court McGee and Dongi Yang, and former TUF ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ winner Jonathan Brookins faces featherweight Erik Koch.
